Fair Food is seeking an office intern to work10-15 hours per week from January – May 2012.
ABOUT
Fair Food is dedicated to bringing locally grown food to the marketplace and to promoting a humane, sustainable agriculture system for the Greater Philadelphia region. Since 2001, we have been uniting local farmers with businesses and consumers by promoting the importance of family farms and create a year-round marketplace for fresh, local and humane food products inthe Greater Philadelphia region. We also provide an assortment of programs and services that contribute to a strong and sustainable local food system.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The intern will provide general support within the office. Tasks will generally include:
- Update and organize Fair Food’s database
- General office tasks to include copying, mailing and filing
- Assist with preparations for special events such as the Brewers Plate and Philly Farm & Food Fest
- Assist with research & communications for Fair Food’s membership campaign and Local Food Guide
- Perform short-term research projects as needed
- Represent Fair Food at community events
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to self-direct & manage multiple ongoing projects and duties
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, database software, internet research and social media / marketing tools
- Extremely well-organized and detail oriented
- Strong writing skills and articulate phone manner
- Creative problem solving skills
- Enthusiasm for our local food system!
