Job Description Kroka Expeditions is a wilderness education school that is committed to awakening in young people a connection to nature and the spirit within, and a capacity for conscious living and compassionate service. We strive to acheive this through wilderness adventure, community living, farming, and the practice of traditional and indigenous skills.

Our Food Programs Coordinator will enjoy the rewarding experience of feeding our diverse campus community throughout all seasons of the year. You will enjoy working alongside our staff, interns, and students as part of a teaching team, for the production, preparation, and sharing of food is central to our mission and all of our daily program activities.  In addition to our expanding farm, we also purchase food from local farms, cooperatives, and delivery suppliers.

Schedule
April 1, 2012 - October 30, 2013 (7 months)(with possibility for year-round work)

Responsibilities
Plan and cook meals for staff and students
Order and manage food inventory and budget
Coordinate weekly expedition food pack out/de-issue
Coordinate food and programming with our Farm manager
Teach and train staff and studentsExpand our use of locally/responsibly produced food products

Qualifications
Exceptional cooking ability/ substantial experience cooking a healthy menu for large groups
Experience cooking on the wood stove and open fire
Experience in field cooking over an open fire
Enjoys working with people of all ages and teaching them cooking. Enjoys delegating tasks and multitaskingFlexible and adaptable to changing schedules

Detail oriented, organized, independent, creative thinkerDrivers license/drives standardAble to work weekends
Able to lift 50 lbs with ease

Compensation & Benefits
$300 to $700 per week commensurate with experience
Room and board
One day off per week
