Job description
The Anthill Farm is a 35 acre farm in northeastern Pennsylvania in the Upper Delaware Highlands region. We grow 7 acres of vegetables and have about 8 acres of fruit and nut trees, some of which are beginning to mature, these include chestnuts, hazelnuts, asian pear, and european pear. We have a permaculture bent to our farm though our main focus is our vegetable operation. We also just started a grass-fed beef herd and have one bee hive.
We have 3 high tunnels that we grow winter greens and summer tomatoes and cucumbers. We have 4 CSAs: All of them are now regional, within a 45 minute drive. We do 1 Farmers Market in Honesdale. We sell wholesale to restaurants and stores through a multi-farm cooperative distribution model that we run from our farm and hope to develop into a farmer's cooperative by the end of 2013.
We live about 6 miles outside of a town of 5000 that is about 2 hours from NYC and 2 1/2 hours from Philly. There is a nice community of people and food producers in our area that meet and are active. We love to swim, hunt for mushrooms and plants, and work hard!!
