Job description
We are looking for Baristas with an appreciation for artisanal food, enthusiasm for ice cream, and excellent driving records to work on our ice cream/coffee/pastry trucks. We are looking for part-time and full-time employees. Please send your resume and tell us a little about yourself and why you would make a great addition to the VL team. Extensive barista experience is a plus but not necessary. If you do not have barista experience, but are enthusiastic about excellent coffee we do offer a training program.
A sincere interest in what makes artisanal foods awesome is very important. Not only do we strive to create exceptional ice cream, coffee and pastries, but we want you to be able to explain to the customer why certain ingredients are special.
Our trucks are not traditional mobile vending trucks, they have huge widows on all sides, which gives a wonderful feeling of openness. All trucks have Mirage Veloce Manual Espresso Machines and pour over coffee bars. Candidates should be independent, outgoing, problem solvers, who don't mind working alone occasionally. Positions are open for our newest truck, which will be at Tavern on the Green in Central Park and also our existing trucks, which are near Union Square. Actual driving accounts for less than 30 minutes per shift.

Based in Brooklyn, Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream meticulously sources ingredients from exceptional small producers. Our ice cream is made with only milk, cream, sugar and egg yolks and has a butterfat of over 20%.
