About City Bakery:
The City Bakery is an established NYC food business, a longtime popular bakery, cafe and catering company. Our breakfast pastries are the best in New York, and each one is hand made with organic flour. Our cookies are the most popular in the city, and we bake them every 30 minutes all day long. Our hot chocolate has been the best known and most drunk hot chocolate in New York since 1990. On the savory side, lunch at City Bakery is the busiest spot in Union Square/Flatiron every day. Our farmer's market-driven salad bar by Savory Chef Ilene Rosen offers seasonal and organic greens, grains and proteins like no other salad bar anywhere. City Bakery is also the creator of Birdbath Neighborhood Green Bakery, with five downtown locations.
We are looking for higher levels of support as we enter a new phase of growth going into our 21st year. We need self-possessed people who care deeply about our work.
About the position:
This position is for an Office Manager with extreme skill, maturity and ambition, and for one who understands how business runs. This role is essential to our main office which coordinates the daily operation of 6 locations. We need someone who welcomes responsibility and wants to play a key role in an intense, growing company.
Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of the day to day office including oversight of office workers and part-time office support.

Interface daily with our accounting firm which handles financial administration, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.

Involvement with HR administration

Communicate and troubleshoot with our vendors re: billing

Oversight of all office files and the coming and going of all documents and packages passing through the office from mail, email or messengers.

Provide administrative and research support as needed to the General Manager, including areas of insurance and regulatory matters
Requirements:

Fabulously organized and help others to be organized and maintain organization

Comfortable working with financial documents

A great communicator by phone, email or text

Someone who enjoys dealing with people and is patient with people

Understanding the hospitality and/or retail food business is plus

A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar position is recommended
