Job Description About us: Free Range Wine & Spirits is a specialty wine shop on Atlantic Avenue in Boerum Hill Brooklyn, just beginning a phase of major expansion. Free Range Wine & Spirits has something for everybody, w/ bottles staring at $11 and going up to expensive rarities unavailable anywhere else. We typically carry smaller production wines and spirits, many are organic and biodynamic, and we are fiercely loyal to our favorite winemakers and distillers. We also work with many local Brooklyn distilleries, and plan to continue to build the brands of our local friends as we grow.  

Job Description: Free Range Wine & Spirits is moving to a larger location just 200 feet down Atlantic Ave and is starting an e-commerce website, with further plans for expansion both online and in the physical space. We are looking for a business minded and industry interested marketing/sales associate for a hybrid position in our growing business.  

Multitasking and prioritizing workflow are essential to success in this role. Viable candidates should be able to communicate in an articulate manner (written, verbal), and be accustomed to working in an entrepreneurial environment.  

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Serving as the primary point of contact for customers and vendors.
• Maintaining and marketing to customer database via Lightspeed and Mailchimp.
• Assist in managing inventory and ordering.
• Sales duties include checking out customers.
• Assisting with other special projects as they are assigned, such as social media, tastings and events. 
• Organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files.
• Providing support to the Proprietor and COO.
• Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, energetic, and highly organized. Must be a team player and have outstanding writing, computing, and data entry skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple simultaneous projects are essential. Must be proficient on a Mac and with Microsoft Office, LightSpeed experience a plus. Bachelor’s degree (or military service) and at least one year of working experience is required. An interest in wine and sprits and related industry isn’t required but it would be an added bonus!

Additional Details:
This position will begin as an hourly part-time position (approx 25-30 hours a week) with potential to grow into a full time salaried position, with the right candidate. Flexible schedule is a must (store open hours generally 1-9pm), as hours will vary and include nights and weekends.
