Job description
Slow Food USA is seeking a senior level, versatile, and experienced online communications and campaign strategist. The ideal candidate uses innovative online strategies and has a demonstrated track record of significantly increasing and expanding online engagement; meaning fundraising targets, and leveraging cutting edge technologies. As part of a high performing team responsible for launching integrated online-onground engagement strategies, this person will pilot SFUSA to become a leader of online campaigning in the food movement.
Responsibilities

Lead Creative campaign strategy development and implementation

Maximize the integration of online and onground organizing activities to achieve our goals; launch campaign initiatives; evaluate success; and modify strategy to improve effectiveness

Meet key online revenue targets

Lead list acquisition strategies
-
Research, write, edit and distribute compelling email and new media copy that is coherent with broader campaign messaging

Monitor and analyze all analytics, leading to more targeted online outreach and maximum public visibility

Monitor online conversations about key issues and identify opportunities for engagement

Stay on top of emerging online organizing trends and tools
Required Qualifications

Excellence at the art of mass constituent email communications in the non-profit advocacy context

Demonstrated effectiveness in using blogs, social networking, viral marketing, internet video distribution, online fundraising, online petitions and other online organizing tools and methods

Demonstrated effectiveness in campaign strategy development and implementation, online communications, and online organizing

Demonstrated effectiveness in online fundraising

Demonstrated ability to manage list growth

Experience in the principles and practices of testing, managing, and interpreting quantitative data

Computer and web literacy, proficiency using CMS and CRM systems

Self-starter and ability to work efficiently and swiftly (with minimal lead time); to drive projects to completion and handle multiple projects and tight deadlines

Excellent project management (scope, budget, timeline), strategic and analytical skills

Minimum 2 years experience supervising a full-time staffer

Excellent internpersonal communication skills that foster high-performing teamwork

Excellent writing skills

Willingness to work long, sometimes irregular hours, sometimes including weekends and evenings
Preferred Qualifications

Technical web skills (e.g. HTML)

Electoral campaign experience

Development and implementation of federal/state legislation campaign

Experience working on/knowledge of food and farming related issues.
Classification: Full-time, exempt
