Job Description Dutch’s Spirits, a producer of premium artisanal spirits is excited to add a farm manager to the growing team developing its New York “farm to bottle” distillery and agri-tourism operation at Harvest Homestead Farm.

In 2014, a new 10,000 ft2 production facility on the 400-acre estate will welcome visitors for distillery tours, tastings, café meals and events.  

Farming functions at Harvest Homestead Farm will cover two primary areas:
65-acres of field crops producing grain for spirits production and the development of a four-acre vegetable garden servicing the onsite farm café and area farmer’s markets.  

The farm manager will oversee the entire operation including:
  • Soil heath, preparation & amendments
  • Planning, planting, weeding, irrigation, harvesting & packing
  • Offsite sale of farm products at markets and events
  • Stewardship of organic process
  • Inventory and sales account management  
The farm manager will be a key member of the Dutch’s Spirits team with the opportunity to build future programming including a farm share membership program, greenhouse for year-round production and interactive visitor activities.  

Core experience must include at least one full season in a leadership role on a commercial farm of any size and the ability to operate and troubleshoot farm machinery.  Additional experience or interest in heritage crops, community engagement, record keeping and organic certification is ideal.

A valid driver’s license and US work permission are required.          
A weekly salary will be negotiated for a 6-day week during the season with the potential for year-round duties.
