Job Description
Essex Farm in Essex, NY is seeking experienced and physically capable individuals who are highly motivated to join a fast-paced and team-focused dynamic organization dedicated to providing a year-round full diet harvest for its CSA members, farm store and more. We also offer an internship program through the Essex Farm Institute.
Applications are being accepted for the following positions:
Dairy Manager – The successful candidate will must have 3 years of dairy experience. The individual will be responsible for management of the milking & processing, pasture management & herd health and maintaining records.
Dairy Assistant – The successful candidate will support the main dairy farmer in dairy production. Additional responsibilities will include sanitization of all equipment, production of cheese and other dairy-related products as well as maintaining healthy cows.
Vegetable Manager – The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience in seed to storage vegetable production. The individual will be responsible for 10-20 acres of land, purchasing of seeds, plowing fields, weeding and harvesting. Horse experience preferred but not required. Managerial experience required.
Office Manager/Administrator – The successful candidate will be responsible for finances, payroll, social media, website, marketing, communications, management of farm store, and development of operations.
Shop/Maintenance/Buildings Manager – The successful candidate will be have experience with machine repair and construction projects. Responsible for the maintenance of equipment and management of the physical plant of the farm.
