Job Description Blue Bottle Coffee is a network of cafes, wholesale partners, and online experiences united by the simple purpose of getting great coffee to everyone who asks for it. We roast coffee on vintage gear, put it in compostable bags, and still get it to our customers within 48 hours. Improbably and delightfully, there are hundreds of us now. We roast on two coasts, make great drinks, clean up after ourselves, bake cookies, type up invoices, get change at the bank, and say please and thank you. About The Job:

We're looking for a hardy, resourceful and friendly Lead Barista to support our Hayes Valley Kiosk team. We're interested in someone capable of leading by example: treating our guests and staff with respect and understanding, displaying confidence while producing quality coffee drinks, and providing outstanding customer service at all times. We're interested in someone who's innovative and collaborative, and who can meet unexpected challenges with poise and positivity. 

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining a thorough knowledge of all the coffees available and ability to guarantee that employees are well-versed in these coffees
• On a daily basis, monitor drink quality and offers input to other baristas
• On a weekly basis, report to Hayes Valley Kiosk Manager with updates, concerns and progress reports from the café
• In absence of a manager, take care of staffing issues, supply shortages, and report disciplinary needs to Hayes Valley Kiosk Manager
• Assist the Hayes Valley Kiosk Manager w/ administrative work such as ordering in a timely manner (coffee, retail and disposables)
• Execute scheduled coffee order in a timely fashion.
• Act an extension of the training dept. assisting baristas hone there technical and hospitality skills.
• Assist QC with production cupping and analysis.
• Communicate with the Hayes Valley Kiosk Manager in regards to any equipment issues or needs.

 You have most of the following:

• A love and/or respect of delicious coffee
• Have impeccable customer service skills
• Are extremely punctual, tidy and clean in appearance (adhering to the Blue Bottle uniform policy at all times)
• Act as a representative of Blue Bottle at all times
• 9-12 months of experience working as a Barista with Blue Bottle Coffee
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Current California Food Handler’s Card
