About the Merchandise Lead Role: We are looking for a Merchandise Lead to drive the assortment and merchandising strategies for Good Eggs New Orleans. It’s a big role, and we need someone with a varied skill set: Do you have great intuition, solid sales skills, analytical experience, and a keen editorial eye? This role may be perfect for you.Our local Merchandise Leads are responsible for the products—and how many of those products—we sell to our customers. You will bring new producers and new products into our marketplace, assess the performance of those producers and products over time, ensure these products are accurately and enticingly promoted, and continue to bulk-up, pare-down, or spruce-up our assortment (and its display) accordingly.

Primary Responsibilities:  
  • Build strong producer and assortment lead lists based on sales analysis, trends, and your intuition on what will sell well in our marketplace;
  • Establish new relationships with local and regional producers and foodmakers, working closely with them to build the most compelling offers for our customers;
  • Curate your marketplace daily based on performance, season, new products, discounted products, etc., applying both your analytical and editorial eye;
  • Write and edit product descriptions as needed;
  • Create and distribute weekly, monthly, and quarterly merchandise reports;
  • Manage a variety of special merchandising projects including our local holiday promotions.

Our ideal candidate has:
  • 4+ years working in a buying, merchandising, sales, consulting, or similar business role; editorial and/or marketing experience a plus. 
  • Good quantitative skills and business intuition;
  • Experience working for an ecommerce company;
  • Strong writing and communication skills required;
  • An interest and understanding of the local food movement and sustainability;
  • A desire to work at a mission-driven, fast-paced organization!
