Job Description Green Grocer Chicago is an intimate, neighborhood market featuring organically grown and locally produced foods and specialty items. Our close relationships with Midwestern farmers and producers not only supports the local economy and decreases transportation costs and emissions, but it also gives our customers the freshest, most delicious foods available.

Green Grocer Chicago is looking for someone with knowledge and passion for food and specifically understands and believes in our mission to provide local, organic and sustainable food options to our community.

THE BASICS:
We are looking to fill 4 or 5 shifts a week for 30-40 hours. Weekend and evening availability is a must.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
We pride ourselves on our customer service and our relationships that we form with our amazing customers. The ability to connect with people and hold real conversations is essential. This is not an easy job. The grocery is a fast-paced environment where you will have to multi-task and have no down-time. We are always working. The job is very physical and you will need to move fast. You will be on your feet the entire shift, stocking products, moving cases of beer, and lugging around crates of apples, finding soft and moldy onions all while helping customers. The work is hard but it is also very fulfilling get to work with amazing vendors, getting to know really great customers and having access the the best food available.
