Job Description Teance is a locally owned and operated tea company dedicated to curating the finest whole leaf, seasonal, hand harvested teas for our community here in the Bay Area and throughout the country.  Our teas are directly sourced (by us) from small family-owned farms throughout Taiwan, China, Japan, India, and Nepal.

We are currently seeking a full-time Sales Associate to be a part of our Berkeley Teashop.

The Basics/Responsibilities:

Customer Service: welcome customers, answer basic questions about tea, tea ware, and other products. Provide thoughtful, patient, and helpful customer service that leads to sales.

Efficiently ring up customers on our Square POS system: become familiar with all aspects of the square system. i.e. returns, etc.

Maintain cleanliness of shop, assist in resetting the tea ware.

Perform opening and closing procedures.

Serve tea to customers in the upstairs sitting area.

Assist other staff in their daily responsibilities.

Required:
- At least one year retail sales or hospitality experience
-OR at least one year of restaurant experience 
- Basic mac computer skills
- A naturally friendly and welcoming demeanor
- Excellent customer service

- Happy to work at a small tea company
- Excited to learn about all of our teas as part of training
- Must be tidy, efficient, organized and able to represent the   company professionally

Bonus:
Familiarity or interest in tea, knowledge of Square POS, knowledge of Google Drive, and experience with Adobe CS is a big plus.

Hours: 35 - 40 hours a week
