Job Description The Buttercup seeks a creative chef/manager who wishes to live in Missoula, Montana and work one block away from the University of Montana. The Buttercup serves a town and gown community with healthy, fresh food simply prepared and beautifully served. We strive to be locavore, sourcing as much as we can with the smallest carbon-foot print, which in Montana is more like region-vore. Our customers range from vegans to serious carnivores, with at least a third of the menu items gluten-free.  This position will be in charge of the breakfast and lunch menu, assisting in private diner parties held at the Cafe, and training and managing the back of the house.

We seek an experienced chef who loves the challenge of creating food harvested that morning or brought in from the Farmers' Market (Missoula has several FM in the summer, and one all winter); can work well with others and set them up to succeed; and is fully certified in the latest Health Department procedures. While preference will be shown to those with degrees from a cooking school, those who are self-taught with loads of experience will also be considered. 

The Buttercup has experienced steady growth since it opened four years ago. While it has a successful menu of healthy items, we wish to expand the menu to include more cook to order dishes, especially for breakfast.
