Farm Description: Jasper Hill Farm is a 300 acre farmstead cheesemaker located in Greensboro, VT. The farm was started in 2003 by brothers Andy and Mateo Kehler and has grown to include 7 year-round full-time employees as well as seasonal help and interns. Jasper Hill strives to be a standard bearer for quality in the artisan cheese industry and has won numerous national and international awards for its premium quality cheeses. The year the Kehler Brothers started the farm, 3 local farms went out of business. Jasper Hill Farm is the beginning of a twenty-year vision that includes more farms producing milk for cheesemaking within the nearby community. The Jasper Hill Farm Manager will be a catalyst for this growth, and the position represents an exciting opportunity for personal and professional growth within an exciting and quickly growing business.

Position Summary: Not all milk is created equal! Jasper Hill Farm needs the best cheesemaking milk possible. The Jasper Hill Farm Manager will manage all aspects of producing cheesemaking milk. They will also initiate and maintain systems to track the efficiency and progress of an innovative dairy operation. Duties include herd health and breeding programs for our herd of 45 registered Ayrshire cows, milking and raw product oversight, management of farm operations including whey-fed pork production, composting and nutrient management operations, field-work and cropping as well as staff supervision. There is room for growth as more farms start up or transition to milking for cheese production. A strong desire for continued learning is needed. The Farm Manager will help us grow and implement new ideas to keep Jasper Hill Farm an innovator in the cheese industry.

Skills Requirements:
5 years of Management Experience
Highly Organized
Computer Savvy, comfortable with Excel, DHIA
