Job Description The opportunity
Homemade is a Silicon Valley start-up launched out of Stanford in 2013 by co-founders Anna Rakoczy (LLM / LSM, Stanford, UC Berkeley) and Dr. Chloe Chien (MD / MBA, Stanford). The mission of Homemade is to reverse the epidemic of lifestyle diseases by helping individuals to adopt and maintain better eating habits.  We do this by offering in-person social cooking programs where we teach the joy of cooking and eating whole foods made from scratch in a community.  We have cooked over 15,000 meals with our members to date and helped hundreds of members to sustainably lose weight and improve their quality of life.  Our goal is to reach every community in the country such that anyone can become self-sufficient, empowered home chefs as a healthy way to live.

We are on a rapid growth trajectory and looking for an outstanding individual who is self-driven, ambitious, enthusiastic and passionate about living a healthy life to join our team as our Director of Marketing.  We seek applicants with experience and proven success in customer acquisition marketing.  The individual will have the opportunity to lead in a dynamic, fast-paced, mission-driven organization with a positive and empowering company culture and opportunities to grow with the company as we scale.

The role

Our Director of Marketing is responsible for all aspects of marketing including:
  • Coordinate sales processes and outreach events in the community and with strategic partners
  • Manage InfusionSoft CRM
  • Track and analyze marketing and lead generation KPIs, then make data-driven recommendations to improve conversions and lower acquisition costs
  • Represent voice of customers and help drive business strategy
  • Many other expected and unexpected tasks that arise every day in our start-up!

The required skills
  • Superb verbal and written communication
  • At least three years of direct experience in marketing, growth and customer acquisition in consumer-facing businesses, ideally in the food or health space, and with proven success in taking a product from concept stage to market in a startup environment
  • Strong work ethic and a demonstrated commitment to building a career in this field
  • Excellent multi tasking skills and ability to execute on required tasks within budget and timeframes, and with the ability to be calm and resourceful in the midst of a fast, forward moving environment with unpredictable challenges
  • A ‘big picture’ and strategic approach to projects and the business, with the ability to build systems for business efficiency, and the ability think outside the box and creatively come up with new ideas/solutions
  • Ability to work autonomously and also to work collaboratively with a team
  • Ability to accommodate occasional travel in the Bay Area and after hours work as needed.

The position details: The position is available to commence training as soon as possible.  Our general hours are Monday-Friday 9am-6pm and our office is located in Menlo Park, California.
