Job Description Drive Change, New York City's most exciting new food social enterprise, is looking for some serious leadership: YOU.

Drive Change uses the food truck industry to hire, teach and empower young people who are returning home from adult jail and prison. We use Snowday our Vendy Award winning (farm-to-truck) food truck as a living classroom to provide employment and teach transferable skills to youth impacted by the system (skills include culinary arts, marketing, social media, hospitality and small business development). All sales from the truck recycle back into the organization to subsidize the program costs.

We just finished our amazing pilot year and we're looking for the right Truck Coach to take our team to the next level.

Every time we are out for service is a learning opportunity for our team and for our customers. It is our goal to foster a work environment classroom that optimizes our efficiency as a business and creates the best possible learning experience for our team. Think of each service as a sporting event, a match we prep for in our kitchen/classroom and need the expertise of the right coach to help our team members reach their full potential during the match.

As Truck Coach, you will be responsible for setting the tone of service; encourage team members throughout service in their specified and rotating roles (Cashier; Line Cook; Expediter and Customer Service Attendant); managing the operations of our employees throughout the duration of service; and providing feedback for growth.

YOU
 
1. We are eager to work with someone with serious kitchen/culinary experience. We need our coach to be someone familiar with kitchen operations as we try to maximize our efficiency.
2. Teaching/Coaching experience will be preferred
3. Experience working with young people impacted by the criminal justice system is preferred - you will be a coach, a leader, a mentor and having experience with the population with put you in a great position to lead. If you yourself have had direct impact with the system we see that as a potential asset to your ability to work with us.
4. You must physically ready for the food truck like - it can be grueling out there so make sure your feeling fit for the job
5. Creative and ready to make a difference in many lives
6. Political and eager to raise awareness about injustice inside of the criminal justice system with our customer base - we use the power of a shared meal to connect and build community that is invested in reform
