This position includes half days on the farm doing administrative work and packing CSA shares, and additional work from home communicating with customers via phone & email, including weekends. This is a highly demanding position during peak season, and requires a “do whatever it takes” personality that can successfully resolve customer service issues and troubleshoot ordering, as well as use Excel and be generally web savvy. This person will also assist with promotions, such as social media posting, and CSA member management, though our online portal site. This person will most often interact with customers over the phone and email, but also will interface with customers and assist with live promotional opportunities occasionally in peak promotion seasons. We are looking for excellent communication skills, quick decision making, and a cool head while working with potentially frustrated customers. You must be flexible (in schedule and attitude), pay attention to details, act on the desire to succeed, and contribute to the farm’s overall growth; knowledge of the local food system and/or customer service experience and/or produce handling experience is a bonus. This position requires a commitment to weekend communications from home, and to keeping up with a flow of digital communication from 200+ customers, and flexibility for occasional weekend promotional events. Quickbooks knowledge is also a plus.

Operations: Send weekly emails to wholesale accounts with our produce availability list. Assist with receiving orders as needed, and with placing orders to our suppliers as needed. Program all CSA share items for purchase in our customer portal each week, open and close the online store, and send the members a reminder email. Share feedback with the farm. Coordinate CSA pick and pack lists and prepare labels each Monday morning. Pack items for CSA boxes for part of your shift, this part of the job is physical and will take place in the wash house on the farm. Attention to detail and organizational skills required - training will be provided.

Promotions and Marketing: Be excited about local and organic farm fresh crops! Keep website updated as needed (no html), assist with programming social media and picture taking, contribute to the monthly blog by writing some creative content, and type up our new email addresses as needed. Work with Farm Owner and Manager on seasonal marketing and promotions plans, as directed.
