milk bar is the sister bakery of the momofuku restaurant group headed by christina tosi. we are looking for hard-working individuals that are up for any job, big or small who want to grow with us. you'll be working closely with a large, passionate team in a collaborative environment. our office is seeking a driven, organized, and hands-on individual to be our director of human resources at milk bar.
some things you'll be doing:
- managing all aspects of hr operations and strategy including: compliance with labor laws, recruiting, training, coaching, employee relations, performance management, compensation, culture, organizational design and developing our employees to their maximum potential
- directly contributing to the development and accomplishment of organization plans and objectives through hr strategy
- establishing and implementing hr policies that communicate and support the vision of the company
- functioning as a strategic business advisor to the COO & CEO regarding key organizational and management issues. working closely with the company heads to evolve key organizational and management topics and goals
- providing daily support to the organization, adapting communication styles as necessary to build relationships with all team members
- managing comprehensive compensation and benefit plans that are competitive and cost effective
- consulting on employee relations issues and leading mediation when disputes arise
- minimizing legal risk and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and legal requirements across our various locations
- working closely with momofuku hr to ensure policies and processes are aligned with company standards
- overseeing the hr department and team members
- continuing to create the #milkbarlife experience for employees that is aligned with company values and culture
- BS/BA Degree; MBA/MA/PHR or SPHR preferred, preferably in the hospitality industry
- 3+ years hr experience with 1+ years in a supervisory role
- thorough knowledge of federal, ny, and dc labor and employment laws
- have a demonstrated background in talent management and leadership management, as well as a proven ability to attract and retain outstanding talent
- flexibility to travel as appropriate to implement strategic hr initiatives across the company's various locations
- must have the ability to bring immediate credibility to the human resources department through professional qualifications and leadership skills
- superior interpersonal communication and proven organizational skills
