Job Description Are you an experience intern/field crew member looking to take the next step?  Do you want to take part in large scale wholesale production on a small scale farm?  Does the idea of planning, supervising and participating in the harvest of thousands of pounds of produce every week get you excited? 

Seed to Seed is currently seeking to hire a Field Production Crew Leader for the 2016 growing season.  The crew leader will assist in all aspects of the farm's operation.  This job requires a strong understanding of organic produce, high quality standards, excellent attention to detail and a work ethic strong enough that you can set an example for the rest of the crew.  The hours are long and the work is difficult but our reward is that we provide produce of extraordinary quality and quantity to restaurants, supermarkets, coops and schools throughout the Twin Cities area.

Job Details: This position pays $12/hour.  Although hours will vary depending on the time of season the crew leader should be prepared to work 55+ hours per week.  This may include early or late hours and one weekend day.  This position will start Mid March and go through Mid November.  Room and board is provided on farm .

About the farm:  Seed to Seed farm grows 10+ acres of certified organic produce in Balsam Lake Wisconsin, about an hour away from the Twin Cities.  It is owned by Ariel Pressman, a 1st generation farmer.  Seed to Seed is in its 5th year of operation

Basic Requirements:
  • At least 2 seasons of experience working full time on a production scale organic farm
  • Previous experience operating tractors and basic farm machinery
  • Strong understanding of organic produce quality, packing and grading standards
