Job Description COMPANY OVERVIEW

Mast Brothers is a pioneering bean-to-bar chocolate making company founded in Brooklyn, New York in 2007. We source cacao beans from around the world, roasting and grinding in small batches to create truly handmade chocolate that celebrates the unique qualities of each cacao origin. At our flagship factory and retail shop in Brooklyn, our distinctive bars are wrapped in exquisite custom papers and shipped to specialty food shops around the country and around the world. We are looking for an enthusiastic, chocolate-loving Wholesale Director to lead our sales team and manage relationships with distributors and key accounts within the wholesale side of our business. The ideal candidate will help our wholesale program grow in a way that is consistent with our brand and global growth strategy.

JOB DESCRIPTION
SALES PLANNING AND EXECUTION
  • Develop annual sales plan in alignment with organizational and brand strategy objectives.
  • Direct annual wholesale forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with major national retailers.
  • Pro-active, hands-on implementation and execution of sales policies and practices: lead by example.
  • Set detailed standards for identifying new account opportunities that continue to elevate brand image while helping to achieve aggressive sales goals.
  • Prepare sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed key market and customer base expansion.
  • Closely direct sales team to develop an optimized national and international retailer matrix and distribution plan based on said brand and sales specifications.
  • Work closely with Design and Chocolate Production teams to ensure timely receipt and launch of product.

SALES TEAM DEVELOPMENT
  • Build, develop and manage sales team to execute sales initiatives.
  • Ability to train, mentor and inspire team to deliver and over-deliver results.
  • Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations of key direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE 
  • Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and drive results individually and collectively through others.
  • Planning: ability to anticipate and address critical business needs in advance and plan accordingly in the short, medium and long term.
  • Management and Communication: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities—working across departments and alongside the executive team to facilitate optimum cross-channel and interdepartmental communication.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in successfully developing and executing strategic sales plans.
  • Strong leader with an indisputable executive presence with ability to motivate team members.
  • Food or Beverage industry experience required.
