About ORIS:
ORIS’s mission is to “aid in the resettlement of refugee and immigrant groups in the state of NH by providing assistance, training, resources, and opportunities that promote self-sufficiency.” Currently ORIS provides support through case management, interpretation, cultural education, employment services, referrals to service providers, and via the New American Sustainable Agriculture Project (NASAP), a training program that supports new Americans to develop their own farm businesses while promoting local food access.
Job Summary:
The incumbent of this position is responsible for coordinating SNAP/EBT and Granite State Market Match (GSMM) program activities at the Salem NH Farmers Market, which operates Sundays from 10am-2pm year round.
Supervision Received:
Works under the direct supervision of Agriculture Program Coordinator
Supervision Exercised:
None
Status: Part-time, $100/week stipend
Qualifications:

- Some college or equivalent experience preferred
- Approaches working with peoples of diverse economic, social and cultural backgrounds in a competent, sensitive and aware manner
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of languages other than English a plus
- Available to work Sundays
- Drivers’ license with ability to travel between Manchester and Salem, NH
Responsibilities:
- Operate SNAP/EBT, GSMM, and other transactions at Salem NH Farmers Market
- Provide technical assistance to new American farmers at the market as needed
- Report weekly market data using online application
- Submit vendor invoices monthly; distribute vendor checks at market
- Explain the program to new customers and vendors clearly and effectively
- Assist with marketing and promotion of the GSMM program
- Present professional and positive image as a representative of ORIS
