We are searching for a dynamic Marketing Manager capable of working well in a fast-paced team environment, proficient in the marketing of local, organic, and sustainable lifestyles, with a heightened sensibility to food. Our Marketing Manager will need to actively maintain and enhance our Co-op brand, as well as create initiatives to reach new customers and surrounding demographics. This is a full-time salaried position, with good vacation, health, dental, 401K, and other benefits available, including an employee discount.
What we need from our new Marketing Manager --
Our Marketing Manager is responsible for marketing the Co-op to new areas, coordinating advertising, social media, all of areas of marketing, and store-related graphic design.
General Responsibilities include:
- Strategically using data to develop and create reporting based on market saturation data and the development of marketing plans in reaction to trends
- Development and advancement of the Co-op brand through product and event promotions
- Coordination of advertising with appropriate departments, Board committees, and other stakeholders
- Development of a unified, consistent tone and appearance for all communications and design for store presentation
- Sourcing and advertising opportunities and placing adverts in the press – local, regional, and specialist publications
- Liaising with designers and printers
- Monitoring competitor activity
- Developing email communications to members and customers
- Development and coordination of events that involve the Co-op
- Maintenance of social media platforms
- Adherence to the marketing budget
- Organizing and attending industry related events
- Sourcing and securing sponsorships
- Conducting market research to include using customer questionnaires, focus groups, and customer feedback
- Coordination of store signage creation and maintenance
- Creation and maintenance of all vital Co-op documents and marketing materials, advertising displays, posters, flyers, e-newsletters, and in-store publications
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Set and delegate daily priorities for contributing team members and interns to ensure productive and creative work flow
- Coach and mentor operations managers in marketing and promoting products and events
Skills and Qualifications
- Should be available to work a flexible schedule both during the week and weekends, with some evening work necessary at special events
- Must possess a solid knowledge of Graphic Design/Web Development software
- Ability to design effective, dynamic graphic communications
- Website knowledge (HTML, CSS, XHTML)
- Understanding of effective communication techniques and marketing tactics
- Understanding of publishing specifications for print and electronic materials
- Ability to create and maintain Co-op blog site and other peripheral electronic media outlets (Facebook, yelp, foursquare, etc.)
- Ability to write copy for effective, dynamic communications for Co-op website
- Ability to work independently while multitasking and project managing to meet time-sensitive deadlines
- Some knowledge of and interest in natural foods and natural foods industry
- Strong execution skills and ability to follow through on commitments
- Oral, written, verbal and technical communication skills
- Strong orientation to outstanding customer service
- Friendly, dependable professionalism
Education/Training
- Marketing degree or comparable experience
- At least 5-7 years of applicable professional-level experience
