She turned her restaurant interest into entrepreneurial spirit, and we&#8217;re all the lucky recipients of the fruits of her labor.<\/em><\/div>\n<div><em><!--more--><br \/>\n<\/em><\/div>\n<p><strong><em>What attracted you to a good food job?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Restaurants is the only topic I never tire of &amp; finding delicious and affordable spots is often a challenge, which is why creating BlackboardEats is creating my dream gig.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>How did your previous work or life experience prepare you for a good food job?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At MTV I learned how to wear jeans while giving power point presentations. A start-up prepared me for knowing what it takes to lift a company off the ground.\u00a0 It was Yahoo where I got a deep\u2028understanding of the online space.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What advice do you have for others in search of a good food job?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Identify what area of the food space attracts you the most and dig in (but be open to moonlighting, for free for a little bit). If it&#8217;s writing, start a blog\/ask if you can contribute\/send samples for free to build up experience. If it&#8217;s cooking, ask if you can work for free in a kitchen for a bit.
