Farm Worker Position .

Maine Medicinals LLC, is looking for a part-time Farm Worker for the remaining 2017 season, with the possibility to become full time in 2018. The Farm Worker will work under supervision of our Farm Manager in all aspects of perennial fruit management: growing certified organic Elderberries, Sea Berry, Aronia, Schisandra, as well as, select herbs.
 

This season, we are reviving old beds using new growing techniques. The position hired will be diving head first into some large weeding and mulching projects.
 

Later in the fall, we will begin breaking ground on expanding our elderberry production and propagation. Next season it is our intent to add a livestock component to the farm to minimize our carbon footprint, closed loop farming, and serve as weed control.  
 

For applicants, it is a great time to join our team. Training will be taught in some regards to Maine Medicinals policies and procedures. By the end of 2019, we will have expanded the production of our farm by 3 fold.
 

Requirements.
Understanding of organic / sustainable farming practices.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
Good interpersonal skills, and willingness to work as part of a team.
Ability to work independently to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Work outside through out the growing season, in varied weather conditions.
Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.
2+ season of relevant farm work, CSA, Market Garden, Orchard etc.
