Assistant Manager for Vegetable Production at Bethesda Academy Farm

Join our school farm! We are seeking a knowledgeable part time vegetable production assistant and skilled laborer for a 20 hour per week position in a fun and rewarding atmosphere .  

We are a small school farm where we work daily with students to teach a strong work ethic and foster land stewardship while developing entrepreneurial skills and teamwork attitude.

Together with the Farm Director The farm assistant will be responsible for the 1acre field crops, high tunnel row production and greenhouse starts, helping process and deliver goods. Tasks include: seeding, weeding, insect control (organinc metheods ONLY, mowing and bush cutting, fence repair, harvesting, packaging and loading and driving deliveries.  

 This is a physical job requiring strenuous outdoor work in all kinds of weather. Some weekend / holiday hours required. Successful applicants will demonstrate experience in and dedication to farming, community outreach, healthy eating and youth development and will have a background check and drug screen.
