  • Date Posted October 09, 2017
  • Location Hartland, VT
  • Category Agriculture / Business
  • Job Type Full-Time
Company Description Fat Sheep Farm & Cabins offers tourists a unique lodging opportunity to explore central Vermont and New Hampshire, and is ideally situated to explore Woodstock, Quechee, and Hanover, NH.  Fat Sheep Farm is a working farm that sells produce and eggs at the Woodstock Market on the Green and to local restaurants, and will begin making cheese with a small flock of dairy sheep in 2018.  Guests stay in a private cabin fully equipped with kitchen and bath, and enjoy access to our produce and eggs and incredible views of our growing field and the surrounding forested hillsides.  The views, sunsets, sunrises and stars cannot be beat.  Opened in June of 2017, it has been very well received with exclusively five star ratings on Facebook, Tripadvisor and Google.  We offer guests an opportunity to take our sheep and goats to pasture, collect eggs from our chickens, and tour the fields where we grow most of our own food.  We are committed to ensuring each person who stays here can get as acquainted with the farm as they choose and stays in a beautiful, clean, and comfortable space.  We use our firepit regularly throughout the summer to soak in the night sky and give our guests a chance to meet us and each other.  In 2018, we hope to offer more on-farm activities such as learning about cheese making, farm tasting happy hours, and, if all goes well, movies in the barn at night. Job Description Looking for a couple, or individual, to spend at least the 2018 farm season on a farm helping with caring for both livestock and the crops, as well as assist with our rental cabin business on the farm.  Start date would be in May of 2018 and a minimum commitment through October of 2018 is required.  Housing is provided.

We are open to both part time and full time arrangements and would offer a newly renovated in-law suite apartment with private entrance, kitchen and bath as part of the compensation, as well as access to the food we produce.  This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to live in a beautiful place (with an amazing view from your bedroom window) and is williing to work hard and help out with both the farm tasks and getting the cabins ready for guests.
