Company description Cricket Creek Farm is a small grass-based dairy in Western Massachusetts. We make several award-winning cheeses from the milk of our herd of Brown Swiss and Jersey cows (currently milking about 37 cows). In addition to the cheese, we sell raw milk from our farm store. Cricket Creek is seeking a part-time Creamery Assistant - this person works 25-40 hours per week assisting with the production of our award-winning cheeses. Primary responsibilities will include cleaning, affinage (the care of our cheeses in their aging rooms) and filling milk bottles for our farm store.

DETAILS:

Hours may be somewhat flexible. At a minimum the Creamery Assistant will work here every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Compensation is $12 per hour + 20% discount on farm fresh raw milk and cheese, farm raised grass fed beef, veal and pork.

This work is physically demanding and requires precision and fanatical cleanliness. The Creamery Assistant is on his or her feet all day, sometimes in chilly aging rooms. There will be opportunities to learn about all aspects of the cheesemaking process, but keeping a clean and sanitary environment is the first priority of this job. The Creamery Assistant must be reliable, efficient, and able to work independently among awesome, dedicated and hardworking people in a fast paced environment.
