Farm Supervisor Front Field Farm
- Date Posted October 16, 2017
- Location Winterville, GA
- Category Agriculture
- Job type Full-Time
We established Front Field Farm in 2009 on 1 ¼ acres in Covington, Georgia. We quickly learned that the demand for local, healthy and organic food was out-pacing our existing acreage and needed more room to grow. In 2012, we found our new farm land in Winterville, Ga. and began the process of moving our farm. This piece of land was slated to be the second phase of a 60 house subdivision. Fortunately, we had the opportunity to save the land and keep it in agriculture, as it had been for many years. We have room to grow along with the local, sustainable food movement. We love being part of this awesome community of small sustainable farms and artisan producers.
We grow a diverse mix of crops to supply 2 farmers markets (Athens and Atlanta), a 150-plus member CSA and wholesale/restaurant accounts. We market some of our produce through Collective Harvest, a multi farm CSA program serving the greater Athens area. We are one of the 3 founding farms of Collective Harvest. For more information about the farm and our CSA see the websites at frontfieldfarm.com and collectiveharvestathens.com.
