Summary/Objective To collaborate with local Middle and High school teams to promote and provide nutrition and physical activity education through lessons and trainings.
Essential Functions
- Schedule and deliver all SNAP-Ed on-site direct services to assigned schools/centers/clubs
- Deliver training for classroom delivery to classroom teachers through model lessons
- Deliver face to face and/or distance learning training for the school teams and provide coaching on best practices for the topic areas in nutrition and physical activity
- Provide civil rights training for any educator or “front-line” staff/volunteers who interact with SNAP-Ed participants
- Ensure proper display of “And Justice for All” poster (version 475B) at all program locations
- Provide all HealthMPowers student, school/center/club and family services.
- Participate as a School Health Team member for assigned schools, offering resources and support as appropriate.
- Provide regular interaction with school staff to support program delivery to students and families.
- Document work with each school/center/club/community to show progress toward accomplishment of program objectives and adoption of incremental behavior and PSE change.
- Collect sector data as required.
- Provide technical assistance, resources and advice to assist schools achieve their plans for nutrition/physical activity improvement based on their needs assessment results.
- Provide additional interactive training events, resources, and support for families.
- Provide training and activities for Student Health Advocates and adult leader, if requested.
- Assist in conducting tri-annual trainings.
- Provide outstanding service and escalate issues where schools are dissatisfied.
- Provide comprehensive documentation (a portfolio) for work with each school outlining communication, and provision of support for continuous improvement and growth.
- Work closely with local schools’ parent engagement coordinator, Title 1 Coordinator and principal to recruit families and provide nutrition education opportunities for families at school and with at home programming.
- Provide nutrition education and physical activity sessions at school, including mini-lessons and PTA presentations.
- Provide nutrition education and physical activity information for families through field days, family fun nights, curriculum nights, open house and events other than PTA/PTO.
- Share knowledge with HealthMPowers staff for the benefits of our schools
- Collect qualitative information from schools for creating success stories.
- Perform clerical and non-instructional assignments as assigned.
- Ensure program implementation is consistent with HealthMPowers quality standards and evidence based practices
- Lead the set-up, take down and delivery of Body Walk and Assembly programs and related services with participating schools.
- Train volunteers from the school/community to assist with each station in the body walk exhibit.
- Report any maintenance issues regarding the body walk vehicle, exhibit or van to Office Manager to assure that the vehicle is available for all school appointments.
- Communicate with other sector educators as needed
- Maintain accurate travel logs and expenses
- Other duties as assigned.

Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
