Summary:

This position supports the Executive Director and The Good Acre team in performing a variety of administrative, office, and human resource responsibilities. This position will require the ability to work with some ambiguity and to be motivated and flexible.  It is also important to have a passion for non-profits and the work of The Good Acre.

 

Administrative Support

  • Create file storage and improved filing system (electronic and hardcopy)
  • Prepare agendas and supporting materials for monthly board meetings, staff meetings, and internal all-staff correspondence.
  • Record meeting minutes and file
  • Maintain TeamPage project management software pages; post timely, current and appropriate information updates
  • Support grant writer and other TGA staff in the research, data analysis, and submission of grants, speaking engagement applications, and other project submissions.
  • Maintain and update TGA individual donor database with contact information, recent gift activity, note important correspondence, and other important information.

Office Management

  • Manage inventory of all facility and office needs, including, but not limited to, printer and printing supplies, office supplies, paper goods, etc.
  • Assist with mailing at post office
  • Manage contractual cleaning service duties, and coordinate any required scheduling changes
  • Organize dedicated and shared office spaces, common areas

Human Resources (HR):

  • Prepare and manage employee files and required documentation
  • Prepare and disseminate policy information to staff, and ensure compliance under the direction and at the discretion of executive director.
  • Support recruiting and onboarding of new employees

Events

  • Assist with the preparation, facilitation, and oversight of all private and public events.
  • Coordinate set up needs with host/lead, including but not limited to: audiovisual (AV), room logistics/layout, food & beverage need, and other miscellaneous event details.
  • Respond timely to all inquiries.

 

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who not only brings the experience and expertise in this role, but also someone who is passionate about our food system and supporting our work.

In this role you will have the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of our business. We can be flexible on schedule but need a commitment of a 20 hours per week. The skills needed for this position include:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Highly motivated with ability to work with ambiguity and take initiative
  • Ability to work with high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently as well as be a supportive team member
  • Highly motivated
  • Ability to work with people from different cultures
  • Strong computer skills and PC/software aptitude. Proficient in Microsoft Office and data management

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant work experience
  • 3 – 5 years of administrative/office experience; Human resource experience a plus.
