Company description

King of Pops is a popsicle company that started in Atlanta and has expanded throughout the South. Four years ago we purchased a nursery and began the process of turning it into the World's First Pop Farm.

The goal is to grow some of our own ingredients and set an example of environmental sustainability in our community. 

A little bit about our Farm:

Job description

The farm is located in Winston, GA with about 5 acres in production. We grow a mix of annual fruits and herbs plus perennial canes, bushes vines and trees as ingredients for King of Pops. All produce grown is processed by King of Pops for our specific line of flavors from the farm. In total we have

.5 acres strawberry

.75 acres blackberry

1.5 acres blueberries (2nd year)

.5 acre muscadines (1st year)

.25 acre melons

.25 acre sweet potatoes

3 hoop houses for basil, mint, ginger and cucumbers

~50 chickens

We manage our production using organic practices with a variety of equipment including walk-behind tractors and a 49 HP Kubota. Soil fertility is managed through cover cropping, OMRI-listed fertilizers (granular and liquid), and compost which is produced on-site in partnership with Compost Wheels.

What you’re going to do:

  • Manage crop production from seed to delivery. Annuals: herbs and fruits. Perennials: canes, bushes, vines and trees

  • Lead, Manager and hold Accountable the farm staff- currently one full time member

  • Manage annual budget

  • Maintenance of property infrastructure

  • Maintaining fertility schedule and long term fertility

  • Planning installation of perennial fruit crops (mainly trees)

  • Documentation and Record Keeping of production

  • Follow food safety procedures and work towards GAP certification

Who you are:

  • 2-5 year minimum experience in organic farming

  • Farm management experience

  • Construction and Irrigation experience

  • Self motivated and hardworking

  • Creative problem solver
