Barnyard Educator The Trustees

Company description

Powisset Farm has a long history of agricultural enterprises, from a dairy farm many years ago, to Amelia Peabody’s legendary farm, famous for its breed stock of Hereford cattle and Yorkshire pigs. Many visitors remember fondly the glowing green pastures dotted with cattle and framed by beautiful barns.

Today, our farm is better known for its CSA (community supported agriculture) operation. In 2007, we began a CSA operation with 100 shares, and are currently growing for 350 Summer CSA members and 100 Winter CSA members. We also host a farm stand during the summer and fall, so that members of the public have access to Powisset produce.

In addition to the great food we produce, we host hundreds of programs and events year-round. These programs include two festivals, farm-to-table dinners, cooking classes, children’s farmer-for-a-week programs, and much more. On average we host over 5,000 program participants per year. We also rent our space out for birthday parties, weddings and other gatherings.

At Powisset Farm we are committed to growing our community by connecting people to food and the land on which it grows.
