Position: Land Steward
Reports to: Land Manager
Status: Hourly, seasonal, part time – 24 hours/week, pay range $14 - $17 hourly depending on experience
Summary of Position:
This position will support the maintenance and management of all Intervale land and structural assets. Intervale assets include buildings and facilities, trails and trail-markers, tools and equipment, event space and farm land. This position reports to the Land Manager.
Responsibilities:
•Perform daily groundskeeping and facility maintenance tasks, including landscaping, mowing, cleanup, irrigation management, building maintenance, and general equipment maintenance and repair
•Assist Land Manager in accomplishment of annual tasks and in cases ofemergency
•Assist with site preparation for Intervale Center seasonal events/activities
•Attend Intervale Center staff meetings, events, and other activities as needed
•Represent the Intervale Center to the public as needed
•Perform other tasks as needed
Qualifications:
•Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
•Passion for supporting sustainable, community-based agriculture
•Experience working as part of a team and individually
•A minimum of 2 years of experience with carpentry, landscaping, and/orfarming
•Experience operating power tools, farming equipment, and chain saw
•Experience managing farming, building and/or landscaping projects
•Ability to comfortably lift 50lbs, willingness to work unsupervised and in allweather conditions
•Valid Vermont driver’s license
