EnrichLA is a community wellness non-profit organization that works to enrich the health and education of K-12 public school students by building organic, environmentally responsible gardens on school campuses within Los Angeles County. Focusing on schools found in low-income and under-served neighborhoods, our school gardens are inexpensive, promote community involvement, encourage respect for our delicate planet, act as outdoor classrooms, cheer up school campuses, help students build a good work ethic, and promote thoughtful and healthy eating habits. Since 2011, EnrichLA has built over 100 gardens throughout Los Angeles and offers a weekly educational Garden Ranger Program at 80 of those schools.

Enrich LA MISSION:
A Garden in Every School: We are transforming Los Angeles school campuses while engaging students to cultivate healthy eating habits and academic excellence through hands-on classes centered on building, nurturing, and sustaining school gardens.
JOB SUMMARY:
Enrich LA is seeking a part time team member to coordinate all internal fundraising efforts and support the organization’s financial stability. This is a dynamic position that includes grant writing, fundraising, managing giving programs, research assessments and maintaining community relationships.
Enrich LA’s unique program model offers educational garden classes to Title 1 schools for an extremely discounted price. As we serve almost 90 schools, a Grants and Funding Director is imperative to ensuring the organization has garnered enough sponsorship to sustain the program at each partnered school in Los Angeles. Enrich LA is only 8 years old and with help of this position aims to garner funds to support building new gardens, training more garden educators, developing curriculum, strengthening internal operations, and designing programs that strengthen our mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify fundable projects fitting organizational strategies and manage aggressive grant writing calendar
- Compose, proofread and submit competitive solicited and unsolicited grant applications
- Secure privately and publicly funded grants for the Garden Ranger Program, general operations and capital projects
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with local foundations and corporate sponsors
- Facilitate collecting measurables to strengthen grant applications such as program evaluations, teacher assessments and funding breakdowns
- Create and maintain required reporting to funding sources on the status of projects and the appropriation and use of funds
- Present annual budget to Board of Directors for approval and monitor progress and accuracy of budget through quarterly reports
- Recommend policies and procedures to support the grant development program
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors and 1+ year experience working with funding, accounting or grant writing
- Excellent research, writing, organizational, public speaking, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage time efficiently and lead a team of interns and volunteers
- Experience diversifying funding sources
- Familiarity with Google Suite
- Passionate in supporting local farm to school movements
- Creative and able to facilitate new channels for revenue stream
- Self-directed, energetic and enthusiastic
- Submit and pass background check

COMPENSATION:
This position starts at 2 days a week for $125/ day. Depending on job performance, there’s room to expand full time. Applications are due by June 8th and training will begin the last week of June.
