Company description Drumlin Farm is a Mass Audubon wildlife sanctuary and working educational farm located 18 miles west of Boston. Job description

Drumlin Farm Fieldworkers

Are you curious about where your food comes from, looking to raise your environmental awareness, and interested in improving your skills in sustainability? Want to spend the summer outside, make a difference, and get paid for it? Drumlin Farm is a Mass Audubon wildlife sanctuary and working educational farm located 18 miles west of Boston. We seek hard-working individuals with an interest in local food systems and sustainable agriculture to join our team for the 2018 season in a full or part-time capacity.

Fieldworkers work closely with Drumlin’s farmers to raise crops on thirty acres and market our produce through a farmstand, a weekly urban farmers’ market, restaurant accounts, and a spring, summer and fall CSA program. You’ll work hard as part of our team, but you’ll also learn a lot and have a chance to teach others by working alongside our volunteers and summer campers. You’ll spend most of your time in the field but also get to share in the satisfaction of delivering our food to the people who look to us to provide delicious and responsibly-grown produce.

At Drumlin Farm, we are committed to farming sustainably. Protecting the soil, watershed, and the habitats of our wildlife sanctuary are central to all we do. To learn more about what sustainable farming means to us, please visit our website: www.massaudubon.org/drumlin/farming

Qualifications: Fieldworkers should be comfortable with physical labor in all weather conditions, able to lift up to fifty pounds repeatedly, and willing to work with groups of adults and children. Energetic, resilient, self-motivated, punctual, and attentive people are a great fit with our team. You must also pass a background records check (CORI and SORI).

Hours: Flexible schedules can be created to suit the availability of the Fieldworker, ranging from 2 to 6 days per week. Some shift options are mornings 6 a.m. - 12 p.m. and/or afternoons 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Our farming season runs from April through November, and both summer and fall positions are available.

Compensation: $11.50/hr. plus fruit and vegetables produced on the farm.
