Company description Effie’s Homemade is a women-owned, wholesale baking company located outside Boston.  We make a line of award winning tea biscuits that we sell into multiple sales channels from high-end gourmet food stores to distributors, catalog and gift basket companies, and direct to the consumer via our own website.  We began our company ten years ago and have aggressive growth plans.   We are looking for a resourceful, highly dependable, and detail oriented person to become an integral member of our team.  Reporting to both owners, you will be responsible for inside sales and customer management.   
 

 

Job description As an integral member of our team you will:
 

• Make outbound sales calls to established accounts
• Establish and maintain relationships with independent retailers
• Create targeted calling campaigns in support of promotions or merchandising programs
• Field incoming calls and inquiries from retailers
• Take daily orders and create invoices and oversee fulfillment process
• Provide sales support to brokers and sales people in the field who represent our lines
• Research and qualify prospects, make sales calls and follow up on leads
• Visit stores; conduct trainings, in-store demos, audits, to key accounts
• Assist and participate in consumer and trade events or shows
• This position is 85% inside sales/telemarketing and 15% local travel

 

Required Skills

• Passion and/or knowledge about quality or artisanal food
• Must be self-motivated
• Problem-solving with the best interest of the customer as the goal
• Able to multi-task and work independently
• Possess excellent writing and grammar skills
• Telephone and conversational skills are a must
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office is important
• Valid driving license and ability to incur auto travel expenses for reimbursement
