JOB TITLE:                         Career Services Coordinator

REPORTS TO:                     Director of Career Services and Administration


POSITION SUMMARY:

The award-winning Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) is seeking a full-time Career Services Coordinator to provide administrative support to the Career Services Department by handling the day-to-day operations and special projects as assigned.

 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Enter attendance records for students on externships, and assist with tracking and follow-up of required externship paperwork/student communications.
  • Intake and entry of job listings via the online job listing application form, as well as update Career Services bulletin boards and flyer racks.
  • Respond to student/alumni job listing requests via email in a timely fashion.
  • Update alumni employment records and contact information, including weekly updates to the alumni e-mail distribution list.
  • Maintain RSVP lists for various department seminars, fairs, and events.
  • Support planning and execution of the biannual Career Fairs, including development of exhibitor list and all printed Career Fair materials.
  • Support preparation of annual ACCSC report by contacting alumni regarding employment status.
  • Contribute to generation of copy for News from Career Services weekly e-mail, including Alumni News, Hot Jobs,” and special recruiting calls.
  • Represent the school at major food events, conferences, and receptions, as needed.
  • Additional administrative support to include general filing and phones, as well as assistance with special projects.

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Culinary Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of administrative experience
  • Minimum of six (6) months of professional cooking experience highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience with CampusVue software a plus
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work with discretion
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to interact in a collaborative manner with others
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge about ICE and its programs highly preferred
