Job description

Position Summary: The Chocolate Factory Production Assistant Manager is responsible for running manufacturing operations under the Production Manager.  This person will over see the day to day operation of chocolate manufacturing.  The Production Assistant Manager must follow all SQF food safety procedures at all times and lead a staff of production workers. 


Essential Functions
  • Manage production output and production staff.  
  • Prepare and plan production, forecasting and Bixby products in accordance with the formulas
  • Assist in overseeing the manufacturing and packaging functions with attention to maintaining quality and following Food Safety Plans and Food Safety Policies
  • Oversee Primary maintenance of equipment through cleaning and minor repairs
  • Maintain inventory for ingredients and supplies, in coordination with each PM.
  • Oversee Receiving of shipments of ingredients and packaging
  • Quality assurance

    • Ensure all product meets company standards of excellence.

    • Test and pull products as necessary for quality or expiration.

    • Communicate best production, handling, and storage practices to ensure high quality.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Prior food production experience preferred; knowledge of Food Safety Programs, FSMA, PCQI or SQF or able to learn food safety standards
  • Able to manage people well and effectively
  • Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in manufacturing and production
  • May be required to stand for extended periods of time, lift 50+ lbs regularly, and perform repetitive tasks with few breaks.
