Job description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Assistant Production Manager of the NYC commissary assists in overseeing general production, special orders, and fulfillment. The individual is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency as well as general management of the staff.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to operate all machinery, train and maintain equipment
  • Oversee daily production & staff with a focus on time management & efficiencies
  • Complete knowledge of all processes in the production area with an ability to train current and new staff
  • Execute production plans created by the Production Managers
  • Assist in production and pars of special orders items, ensure customer orders are being properly fulfilled
  • Regularly audit product quality and freshness, address and troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Complete assigned menu change tasks as they affect the commissary
  • Ensure proper compliance and adherence to all appropriate health and safety regulations and cleanliness requirements, including food safety and department organization
  • Assist in receiving deliveries when necessary; follow up with Commissary Admin Manager when necessary
  • Lead daily team check ins
  • Assist Commissary Admin Manager on administrative duties
  • Assist Production Managers in gathering end of month inventory counts
  • Fully understand the Milk Bar ethos and serve as a brand ambassador, both internally and externally, making people’s lives a little sweeter.
 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-2 years managerial/supervisory experience required, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Food handlers certificate required
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to make decisions, and multi-task
  • Superior communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and embrace change
