Job descriptionThe Senior Manager of Product - Food & Beverage, reporting into the Director of Purchasing, Retail F&B, manages the assortment and success of the food and beverage products for WeWork’s WeMRKT platform.
About the Role:
This role is fantastic for a dedicated food and beverage professional, who is fluent in working with both perishables and non-perishables. As the primary food and beverage category manager for WeMRKT, this role will build out seasonal product assortments to drive the success of food and beverage. A focus of this position is on discovering and launching emerging brands and curating a fresh food solution for WeMRKTs across the world.
Fresh Food:
- Manage locally-focused Culinary Pop Up program and provide regional leadership with standard operating procedures
- Work with supply chain team on building a perishables program
- Integrate meat-free and sustainability initiatives into fresh food strategy
Non-Perishables:
- Create seasonal assortment strategy for non-perishable snack products and beverages
- Incorporate culinary trends and seasonality into programming
F&B Merchant Strategy:
- Own category performance - conduct category reviews and meet and exceed category sales and COGS goals
- Utilize data to analyze and forecast results - create adjustment and improvement recommendations
- Build visual merchandising guides for in-store execution
- With guidance from senior leadership, establish retail price strategy, gross profit, and sales objectives for F&B category
- Negotiate and maintain competitive costs for all suppliers; seek to improve cost positioning through terms negotiation and payment method optimization
- Own new item set up process by ensuring data integrity from suppliers and coordinating efforts with storefront, master data, and operations teams
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in grocery, food or beverage grocery or retail environment
- Resourceful and effective decision maker with strong analytical skills
- Must have a strong understanding of inventory, cost of goods, forecasting systems
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Entrepreneurial attitude and ability to thrive in a fast paced, ambiguous, dynamic environment
