As of Fall 2018, the farm has grown to 45 acres of certified organic vegetables and a crew of 12 people. A true window into what is possible when you have the passion and drive to feed your community. The farm prides itself on creating a fun and nourishing work environment where people from all walks of life can share in the satisfaction of a hard days work punctuated by delicious shared meals. A top priority now is finding ways to serve lower income families in the Champlain Valley, and navigating the legality of providing a great workplace/ day camp for area youth. We sell our produce from Rochester to the Hudson Valley, New York City and throughout the Champlain Valley. Our focus is on root crops, greens and specialty vegetables.
This position was created 3 years ago on our veggie farm. It entails 3 weekly harvests both for local and regional markets, CSA and wholesale. The Harvest Manager must work well with groups of people, be fast on there feet, able to drive trucks, be willing to work in all elements, must be self motivated and will work closely with Ian the 36 year old owner of the farm. This position is ideal for someone who has spent time on a vegetable operation and can recognize specific vegetables and be able to make decisions regarding harvest numbers and daily changes in the fields.
