Company description Established edible landscape design, installation and organic maintenance company based in Oakland/Berkeley that creates beautiful, edible gardens. Job description Seeking Lead Edible Gardener, with Ornamental Gardening experience.

Part Time, 1 to 2 days per week, Thursdays.
The second day will be Monday, Tuesday or Friday ideally.

$20 to $22 per hour, depending on experience.

REQUIREMENTS
- We are seeking someone who is willing to commit to working for at least 1 year
- Have at least 1 year prior experience doing edible garden maintenance or organic farming
- Have your own work vehicle you can use to transport yourself to jobsites and for the transport of plants and supplies as needed
- Applicants will need a valid CA driver's license, clean DMV record, a working cell phone, and appropriate work attire
- Experience growing food (ideally on a farm) in a professional setting
- Ornamental gardening/Landscaping experience strongly preferred
- Can work independently and as part of a small team of 2-3 gardeners
- Love growing and preparing food and flowers
- Be physically fit
- Be able to safely lift and carry heavy or awkward loads up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Have a basic familiarity with landscaping tools and equipment
- In addition, applicants will need good communication skills and a positive attitude

Experience with arranging cut flowers, pruning fruit trees and/or truck/power tool maintenance is a plus!

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who will maintain great client relations; work well independently and in a small team while also being self-directed; have a willingness to learn and share knowledge; and be detail-oriented, able to follow instructions, reliable, on time and efficient.

Expected job duties: Organic care of client vegetable gardens, fruit trees, perennial edibles and cutting flowers, including: harvesting, succession planting, crop planning and management, organic pest control, organic fertilization, skilled aesthetic pruning, deadheading, troubleshooting and repair of drip irrigation systems, garden clean up using a rake and gas-blower, weeding, safe loading of truck, and client communication including recipe suggestions, etc.
