Carpe DC Food Tours tells the stories of DC neighborhoods through food. Our tours highlight a number of locally owned restaurants, the stories of their owners and how they fit into the changing culture of the neighborhood. We are committed to supporting the district through preservation of history, elevating the stories of those who make the neighborhoods unique and through our one for one program. For each ticket purchased, a portion is donated to our partner charity, Bread for the City, and feeds one local resident in need for a day.
Job description
Carpe DC is looking for outgoing, dynamic, friendly people who want to show off Washington, DC’s food culture to locals and tourists alike. Our goal is to share DC’s rich history and diverse culture through the foods of the neighborhoods, so our guests may appreciate all DC has to offer, and get inspired to explore their own neck of the woods. We’re passionate about supporting the neighborhoods we work in. We’re the first Washington, DC food tour that features a one-for-one program where a portion of each ticket purchased helps feed a local resident in need, through our partner Bread for the City. Application instructions
- Our peak season begins mid-March (Cherry Blossom time) and slows down in December and January. However, we offer tours year round.
- Weekend availability desired, some weekday tours also available.
- Day and evening hours are available.
TOUR GUIDES EXTRAORDINAIRE
Are you into food, history and love DC? Want to share your passion with others? Great guides are fun, friendly and love leading a crowd. We’re looking for some stellar guides to lead our U Street Tours, and Georgetown. Our tours range are roughly 3 hours, as we guide guests through the streets of Washington, DC. We’ll provide the script–you provide the character! Prior tour experience is not required. However, knowledge of food, Washington, DC history and local knowledge is preferred. Guides are paid hourly, plus tips. Guides must be able to commit at least 2 tours a week.
