Profeta Farms is a 1200 acre multifaceted certified organic livestock and vegetable farm dedicated to changing the way food is produced and distributed. We aim to produce a wide range of high quality foods so that our customers may buy the majority of their food from a single local, organic, responsible source. In the spring of 2018, Profeta Farms is planning to open a new 25,000 square-foot grocery store with a strong focus on prepared foods.

The Market Team Members are the face of the company, and they are responsible for maintaining a positive image of Profeta Farms by providing outstanding customer service. The Profeta Farms Team member is outgoing, energetic, and passionate about high-quality food. All employees are expected to adhere to service, cleanliness, quality, and communication standards at the highest level. A Profeta Farms Team Member must maintain positive relationships, integrity, and honesty with both fellow employees and customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to our market visitors; go above and beyond to provide a superior experience to the customer
• Follow recipes and food safety procedures
• Learn and be able to educate customers on Profeta Farms’ agricultural practices, values, and products
• Work well with team members while also remaining focused and motivated without supervision
• Operate iPad, scanners, credit card machines, and other technology
• Respond to customer questions, requests, and complaints in a professional manner
• Accurately and promptly report complaints to management
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including Employee Handbook and Standard Operating Procedures
• Pay attention to detail and constantly check products for quality assurance, pulling any products that are past date or past their peak of freshness
• Ensure that the market is fully stocked and clean at all times
• Follow opening and closing prescriptions
• Be responsible for an accurate cash drawer
• Maintain a clean work station
• Take inventory of products, as directed by market managers
• Perform miscellaneous tasks, as directed by managers

Physical Requirements

• Lift or move up to 50 pounds, unassisted
• Carry, kneel, bend, and stand for long periods of time

Required Work Experience

• 6 months customer/guest service experience
• Experience in grocery or food service environment preferred

Compensation:  Based on experience. Benefits include PTO, medical insurance, life insurance, and a stipend of food from the farm.
