Farm Marketing Manager River Run Farm

  • Date Posted December 11, 2018
  • Location Sequim, WA
  • Category Agriculture / Design
  • Job type Part-Time
Company description Located in Sequim at the foothills of the Olympic Mountains, River Run Farm is a cooperatively run vegetable operation. Our organic veggies make their way to customers through Seattle Farmers Markets, a CSA, an on-site farmstand, and wholesale distributors in the region. In addition to tractors and veggies, we have cows, chickens, donkeys, and draft horses that contribute to tillage, fertility, and other farm systems (including human happiness!). Not far from the farm, you will have easy access to loads of hiking trails, Olympic National Park, the ocean, and the Dungeness River, which abuts the property. Job description In preparation for the 2019 season River Run Farm will be hiring a marketing and customer development manager. We are looking for someone who is inspired by our mission to grow healthy nourishing food, and who is excited by the opportunity to help us as farmers reach out to our community and grow our business. The ideal candidate is a person with experience in marketing and outreach that also has a passionate interest in the junction of food, farming, and health.

Job Responsibilities will include:
 Outreach and educational marketing to grow our CSA membership and better connect with our existing CSA members
 Collaborate with the farm’s business owners to develop a coherent marketing style and message, developing educational marketing, graphics and copy for the farm’s marketing material
 Integrate developed marketing material into our website, social media, and communication with our customer base

This will be the first time our farm hires someone for this position, so we will want to find someone who is patient and easy to collaborate with as we develop what exactly this role looks like. The position will begin as a part-time job and the start date is flexible. While it would be great to find someone who wants to move to the farm and work along side us in the fields, this is not necessary. We are willing to hire someone who works remotely as long as that person is a good match.

Qualifications/Interests
 Passionate about food and the links between good farming practices and public health
 Easy to communicate with and work along side
 Developed writing and editing skills
 Self-directed, organized, and efficient in work habits
 A willingness to collaborate on marketing messaging and design aesthetics
 Experience in some sort of creative outreach campaign
 Proficiency with electronic marketing tools
 Excited by the prospect of expanding your knowledge (in realms of farming, cooking, nutrition, and functional medicine)

Pay, Housing, and the Future
We want to find someone who is a good fit for our farm. We have a great group of people living and working on the farm, and for the right person, this job will be exciting and extremely gratifying. That person will be someone who is willing to work without detailed direction and thrives in an unstructured environment. You will have some support and directions, but we much of this work we will be making up together as we go along.

Pay depends on experience and skill set. For someone wanting to live on the farm a private room in a community house can be available.

Please apply if this sounds exciting. Compensation this position is : salaried Application instructions
