Responsibilities: This position will have a special focus on irrigation installation and application. We are looking for an individual with excellent problem solving and communication skills to work with our irrigation manager and the field production team to ensure efficient and effective irrigation through the use of overhead sprinklers, drip tape, and a traveling gun. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: scouting for pests and disease, field prep and cultivation, fertility monitoring and application, and data collection. Horticulture team members are also occasionally assigned other responsibilities or projects. They are important members of Featherstone’s Horticulture team and involved in all aspects of Field Production from hand labor and equipment operation to data collection and analysis.

Qualifications: We are seeking positive, engaged, self-motivated team players with a passion for problem solving and completing high-quality work. Qualified applicants will have 2 full seasons’ experience with field production of organic vegetables.  Demonstrated ability to operate farm equipment (tillage, seeding, cultivating and harvesting equipment, among others) is desired but not required. Excellent communication skills and proficiency with MS Excel are highly sought. Spanish language skills are desired but not required.

This is a seasonal position with possibility for winter work and added responsibility. It is based at our farm in beautiful Rushford, MN. During the growing season (April-October) employees are expected to work 40 to 48 hours a week in all weather conditions; hours and days may vary. Options for winter warehouse work may be available. Background check may be required.

Benefits: Hourly wage based on experience; includes Paid Time Off after 6 months and access to free organic produce. Housing options are available with reasonable rent payment.
