Job description
BUTCHER / FISH MONGER Responsibilities:
- Oversee preparation of Meat & Seafood for retail sale.
- Assist and support team members and Department Manager.
- Monitor the quality of food that is prepared and presented.
- Ensure the quality of the food items and alert manager if a product does not meet specifications.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
- Butchering skills
- Knife Handling skills
- Excellent Customer service experience
- Clean working habits
BUTCHER / FISH MONGER Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year overall experience working in kitchens
- A minimum of 2 years in a Butcher / Fish Monger role - MUST have experience in both roles
- Must have experience working with Meat handling equipment including but not limited to Grinder and/or Band Saw
- Must possess knowledge of hot to properly fillet, pin-bone, skin and portion out different fish
- Must be punctual & dependable
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Communicate effectively with all customers, co-workers, and management
- Accept and adapt easily to change
