Job Title: Assistant Summer Camp Director

Location: Wakeman Town Farm, Westport, CT

Description:

The Wakeman Town Farm Sustainability Center is an organic demonstration homestead dedicated to serving the Westport Community. The Farm is a model facility created to educate the community with local healthy food production, responsible land stewardship, sustainable practices and community service orientation.

Wakeman Town Farm hosts a variety of summer camp programs for children ages three through twelve. Our programming runs from June 24th to August 16th. Our assistant summer camp director will work alongside the summer camp director to ensure a safe, healthy, and fun environment for our camp kids.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of curriculum and activities for our campers, organizing supplies and equipment for camp
  • Assist in collecting and organizing camp participation and emergency forms from camp parents and guardians before camp begins
  • Serve as an interface for camp parents and visitors to the farm during camp programming
  • Prepare for camp programming by arriving early to organize, and stay after camp kids leave for the day to clean up

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience working with young children in an outdoor setting
  • Experience supervising and directing staff for effective and fun programming
  • Also desired: First Aid and CPR trained
