Hiring:  Bar & Floor Service Manager

Berg'n is looking to hire a team player with a keen eye towards service who's ready to step into a bar focused management role.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handles guest concerns and complaints if they arise. 
  • Maintains a visible presence on the floor and interacts with guests and all Berg'n team members, all the while guiding and growing service.
  • Assists in developing, coaching and setting the tone of service with FOH staff in accordance with Berg'n guidelines and policies.
  • Daily written communication with our management team in the form of a service blog.
  • Menu printing, website updating, pos editing.
  • Assists the management team in ordering supplies as needed; communicates equipment and maintenance needs to the GM. 
  • Creates and maintains the weekly schedule for all Berg'n employees. 
  • Ensures adherence to all cost control procedures, such as voids, discounts, comps, etc.
  • Carries out all opening and closing responsibilities of Berg'n when needed.
  • Reconciles cash at the end of the shift

 

Skills & Requirements

  • A strong knowledge of and avid interest innatural wine, craft beer and classic cocktails.
  • 5 years minimum bartending experience in NYC / Brooklyn bars a must; leadership experience a big plus. 
  • ***This position is Thursday through Sunday evenings, off Monday-Wednesday on a typical week. 
  • Mac/ Windows proficient with knowledge of Word Processing programs, Excel, and Adobe. 
  • The ability to clearly communicate operational tasks in English is required. Must demonstrate proficient English writing skills and must be effective in engaging with our guests to listen to their feedback and resolve their concerns. 
  • Must obtain Food Handler/Food Protection-certified within 3 months of employment if not already a card holder.
